After my post yesterday about the lack of photography trips recently I had a very pleasant experience today. As I was opening the garage door and taking the groceries from the car I saw a shadow flit across the tarmac. Looking up I saw this Turkey Vulture riding the warm air currents above the newly ploughed field. Ploughing tends to bring out the rodents and lizards and this bird was not going to miss the opportunity to get some grub. As soon as I saw him he dived towards the ground and carried something to the edge of the field about 200m from my house. I ran in and grabbed my camera and was able to catch these shots when he lifted off and flew out of the area.
I guess that he had heard I was getting out of practice and decided that he would come to me, rather than wait for me to find him!Sunday, October 18, 2020
